Welcome to Castles in the Sand, a hidden gem in Essaouira, just two hours from Marrakech. Emma Wilson and Graham Carter have lovingly restored two enchanting 200-year-old Moroccan houses, blending vintage charm with modern design.
Each boutique guest house, Dar Beida and Dar Emma, is filled with unique flea market treasures, Moroccan artefacts, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Emma, a former interior designer, ensures every guest enjoys a memorable stay in this captivating coastal town.
Emma is dedicated to ensuring that all her clients enjoy a memorable holiday experience. She is on call via Whatsapp recommending all the must-see spots and organising activities from the moment each guest arrives to the time they leave.

Chosen Charity
Jarjeer Mules was founded by Susan Machin and her husband Charles Hantom who were both lawyers in the United Kingdom. After retiring, they decided to move to Morocco. The Jarjeer centre can be found in the village of Oumnass, about 24km south of Marrakech in the foothills of the High Atlas and is a sanctuary and home to many animals.
Since 2014, Jarjeer has strived to create a sanctuary for working equines in Morocco. The mission has been made possible by local men and women who have supported Jarjeer from the beginning. In particular, Jarjeer provides a sanctuary where mules and donkeys can live the twilight years of their life with dignity, after retirement or when injured.
